Oven-baked Lamb Chops with Onion and Rosemary Sauce
This is simplicity itself – just pop the chops into the oven to bake, and the sauce is easily made. We like to serve this at home with tiny steamed new potatoes tossed in a teaspoonful of lamb fat and some freshly snipped chives, with some young fresh shelled peas or broad beans.

8 lamb loin chops |
1 small onion, peeled and chopped |
salt and freshly milled black pepper |
For the sauce: |
1 large onion, peeled and chopped small |
1 rounded tablespoon rosemary leaves |
1 oz (25 g) butter |
1 oz (25 g) plain flour |
6 fl oz (175 ml) milk |
6 fl oz (175 ml) vegetable stock |
2 tablespoons cream, whipping or double |
salt and freshly milled black pepper |
To garnish: |
sprigs of watercress |
Pre-heat the oven to gas mark 6, 400°F (200°C). |

This recipe first appeared in Sainsbury’s Magazine (Dairy Collection).
Method
First of all, place the lamb chops in a shallow roasting tin with the onion tucked around them. Season with salt and pepper then place them on the highest shelf of the oven to bake. How long you cook them for is up to you – I personally don't mind the centres being cooked since I like the skins crisp, but if you like your lamb pink give them 30 minutes, if not, 45 minutes. Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, melt the butter and sweat the onions over a very gentle heat for 5 minutes. While that's happening, bruise the rosemary leaves with a pestle and mortar to release their oil, then chop them very, very finely and add them to the onion. Then continue to cook gently, uncovered, for a further 15 minutes without letting the onions colour too much. Next, using a wooden spoon, stir in the flour till smooth, then gradually add the milk followed by the stock, bit by bit, stirring vigorously and finishing off with a balloon whisk. Season with salt and pepper and let the sauce barely simmer for 2 minutes, then remove it from the heat, liquidise half of it and then combine that with the rest, along with the cream. Taste to check the seasoning, then pour it into a warmed serving bowl or jug and cover the surface with clingfilm until the chops are ready. Serve the chops with a garnish of watercress and the sauce poured over.

eh pas dicobain ke ayah,, uwaaa katanya enak banget hehehhe... emang enak sih (bukan gr loh) soalnya aku aja ampe nambah .. apa jangan2 karena masakan sendiri yahh...
Tapi senengnya dipuji suami hihihi sampe besokannya masih dipuji berkat si pangek daging :p pangek kan kumasak kau tiap hari kekekeke :p

Ayah kuliahnya dari pagi sampe sore, lanjut group meeting sampe jam 10 malem, udah beberapa hari ini kayak gitu terus... kasian ayah.. Makanya bunda jadi semangat buat masak2 dan bawain bekel buat ayah.. supaya ayah makannya teratur..
Hari ini kita gak kemana2.. soalnya kemaren udah jalan jalan ke Primark (again), ke Fraser, Zara, Next, H&M trus Marks & Spencer.
Besok rencananya mau ke Queen's Park, Glasshouse mau ada pertemuan perkumpulan ibu ibu muda hihihi mau bahas baby wrap :) senangnyaa......
Baby Qinan pagi ini sarapan buah pear dan buah pisang diblende habis 3/4 gelas loh hebat.. abis itu langsung bunda mandiin trus sekarang bobo deh.. makanya bunda sempet nulis blog hehehhe..
Wah nesiaputri lagi ol nih, adekku tersayang... mau ol skype-an..hihihihi.. miss u so much dear..

I Love Primark !!!!!!
Hihihi kalo di Glasgow, orang orangnya bilang Hi There dengan Hayya..
Anyway.. Kemaren baru sempet ngepost Day 1 in Glasgow... Hari Kedua di Glasgow, ayah kuliahnya padet dari pagi sampe sore jadi bunda papa mama dan qinan jalan2 dengan berbekal peta yang digambar ayah.. ayah hebat banget ngegambarin peta nya soalnya persis banget dan gak bikin bunda bingung.. hahaha ketauan ayah sering jalan2 :p Pulang pulang taunya ayah udah nyampe duluan di Apartment.. hihihhi... tapi hari ketiga d Glasgow, ada kejadian yg kurang enak :( mama terjatuh saat jalan menuju apartement, tepatnya di sampingnya GOMA Museum.. kejadiannya gini, papa sama mama jalan dan qinan naik stroller didorong papa... Bunda jalan ddepan agak jaug sih soalnya bawa barang barang hasil belanjaan di Sainsburry,, pingin cepat2 sampe apartment.. pas bunda hampir sampai lampu merah GOMA, bunda denger ada teriakan perempuan.. kaget banget pas bunda liat kebelakang,,,mama udah terbaring tertelungkup di jalan. huwaaa bunda panik banget dong,,, papa juga panik,, banyak bule yg ngerumunin ... tapi syukurlah mama gak kenapa2...
sekarang kejadian itu malah jadi bahan tertawaannya papa mama hahahah...
Oiya mau cerita, kalo seminggu disini aku udah jatuh cinta banget sama Primark. Barang2nya bagus2 banget dan murah2 banget hehe itu yg paling penting...

first day in Glasgow
Itu yang pertama kali terucap ketika Emirates akhirnya mendarat di Glasgow Intl Airport.. 8 jam penerbangan Dubai Glasgow memang sangat melelahkan secara baby Q gak mau bobo dalam pesawat hihihihi... but the flight was smooth. beda bsnget dengan perjalanan Jakarta-Dubai EK0359 yg pas di atas Colombo sekitar setengah jam goncangan terasa keras, diluar jendela pesawat bahkan terlihat petir dan kilatan berwarna merah...
tapi sekali lagi Alhamdulillah sudah sampai :)
